F.T. Hill Museum
 |
324
Teck Street, Riverhurst, Sask.
The F. T. Hill Museum was founded by Mr. Fred T. Hill who published the Weekly
Courier in Riverhurst for 48 years. Mr. Hill had an extensive collection of guns,
and native artifacts.In
1963, Mr. Hill sold his collection to the Village of Riverhurst. At that time
it was located on Main Street. |
In 2001 the village
moved the museum to its present location of the Village Square, formerly
the Riverhurst School. The museum takes up the entire west side of
the building
It is now wheelchair accessible.
Besides the collection of guns, and native artifacts, the museum has a collection
of rocks and fossils; antique furniture; tools used by the early settlers in
the area; and many more too numerous to mention. A recent addition to the museum
is a toy museum.
